About This Item

in 2001 we invited Deb's son (my stepson) jimmybojangles to come sailing with us in an Off Soundings sailboat Race Series from Watch Hill, RI to Block Island, RI and second day a race around Block Island... but, as a joke, 3 days before the race was to begin we told him he had to learn to tie a "Monkey's Fist" knot... or he could not race with us...
He showed up in Stonington, Ct. where we had the boat docked the night before the race, and he had actually learned to tie a Monkey's Fist!!! (something no one else who has ever sailed with us has ever accomplished!!!) If you don't know what a Monkey's Fist looks like... When you see the TB you will understand why this knot is so difficult to tie! Jimmy...you suprise us all the time and we made this TB in recognition of your accomplishment!!! Hope it makes it to you!!!

    Hornytoad and I went to "Circle of Death" where this TB had been left, and tore apart four packrat nests in the vicinity hoping to retrieve it from the varmint that had carried it off, but not a trace did we find. I'm afraid it is permanently missing.
