To travel the world in search of good wine...
I first came to California in 1996, living near San Francisco for over two years during my postdoc. I left California and it broke my heart. Songs like Californication and Dani California by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Santa Monica by Everclear haunted me after I left, and when I had the chance to return to Cali, I jumped at it. While I worked at a biotech in North Carolina, I kept my old California license plate hanging above my desk to remind me of the magical place I left. If you have ever been to California for an extended period, you know what I mean. I live in SoCal now, and I am sending this TB out into the world to seek out other places with great wine and fantastic scenery.
