Explanation of this strange and wonderful mystery:
When I put the bug out in London, I had in error put the COPY tag on her, instead of the original.
When the cache, which was put out in Greenwich Park on the Prime Meridian in London (How cool is that?) , was plundered, Bo Peep's Sheep disappeared (forever?).
When maggiesadie posted a note that she had found the tag, my husband assumed she was contacting us from London and had found it there. He wrote and asked her to mail the tag to us or put a new sheep on it and leave it in a cache in London.
Imagine our chagrin when deadhead logged his find in MINNESOTA. We were very confused for a few days until I determined I MUST solve this mystery. I went back to maggiesadie’s log of 3/27/04 and remembered there was a dog-themed cache with that name when we were geocaching in Champlin, MN. I finally figured out what must have happened.
I was keeping the ORIGINAL tag in my geocaching bag and it must have dropped out when we were geocaching in Champlin. maggiesadie found the tag and put it in the MagieSadie dog cache in Champlin where team-deadhead found it. See his post below.
I contacted team-deadhead to tell him the story and to ask him to return the tag or "clone" Bo Peep's Sheep. He was very willing to clone her and send her on her way again. We all think a fitting mission would be for her to make it back to England in search of her missing clone.
