This beautiful coin commerates the US Coast Guard branch of our Armed Forces. The front of the coin has a dark blue ring with the words United States Coast Guard printed on it. In the middle of the coin is the Coast Guard slogan of "Semper Paratus" which means "Always Ready", along with the date of 1790 in which the Coast Guard was formed. The back of the coin has pictures of the different modes of transportation that the Coast Guard uses, like the Helicopter, Cutter, and Rescue Launches. The words on the back of the coin reads, "Active, Reserve, Veteran, Retired, & Family. Along with the "Always Ready" at the bottom of the coin. This is a beautiful coin which I received as a Christmas gift from my husband, Whaleboat. This coin will be added to our collection and remain in our possession.
