Race with Grannie's Loonie (it's twin) to Lahr, Germany, and back to Barrie, Ontario, Canada
Then just travel the world.
Elmo's Loonie and Grannie's Loonie are a pair of travellers made out of .... as the name implies .... Loonies.
When introduced in 1987, the 11-sided Canadian one dollar coins were quickly nicknamed 'Loonies' for the image of the Common Loon that graces one side of the coin. Designed by Robert-Ralph Carmichael, the Loonie replaced the Canadian one dollar paper note. Over 14 special versions of the Loonie have been issued since its introduction, including several 'Olympic Lucky Loonie' designs. The lucky loonie legend began in 2002, when when a Canadian icemaker for the 2002 Olympic Hocky events buried a loonie under centre ice. Both the Canadian men's and wormen's hockey teams won gold in the tournament. Following the Games, Wayne Gretzky recovered the coin and gave it to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
While serviing with the Canadian Forces on a peace-keeping mission in Damascus, my father had these made by a local jeweller.
Laser cut from genuine one dollar coins and gold plated, they were turned into necklaces.
With the gold plating worn away, it's time to have them begin a 2nd life as Travel Bugs.
Please do not hang onto this traveller .... keep it moving so that others can also experience it.
May these Loonies provide good luck to the cacher's who find them during their travels.

Retrieved during my run to find all Wonders in a day. From the map, I see that it jumped over Germany without ever going there. I'll see if I know someone going to Europe soon, but I highly doubt it (because.. Covid!). I'll keep it moving anyways! Thanks for sharing!

Very cool trackable. Did u cut the loonie or did you buy it? Spotted it in Montreal at the park in the old Miron Quarry which is now an amazing park. East of papineau, north of the trans canada highway.
