My goal is to visit the waterways of Britain.
I'm a fender, small, but perfectly formed just like those you find on narrowboats. I'd like to visit as much of the British waterways as I can. I don't mind going further afield, a cruise on the sea would be pleasant, but please bring me back to the navigable routes in Britain, please don't leave me abroad.
Please take a photograph from time to time so that folk can enjoy their own virtual tour of the waterways.
If I am damaged please try to get me back towards the Trent end of the T&M where I can be retrieved for repairs...
I was made one evening on a narrowboat on the river Trent within walking distance of my owner's cache. I'm made pretty much the same as a full sized fender only using much smaller rope and dog tag chains. The small ones are only easier to make because there is less 'stuff' to work with, otherwise, they are very fiddly and harder than a full sized one.
When my owner first started making fenders he struggled to find anything on the internet but it turns out that, essentially, fenders are just a long series of half hitches. Start with a loop around the former, half hitch where the loop meets and work away from yourself, just keep on going round and round...
