Blue is the main character of the animation hit "Rio" released in 2011 (second movie hit theatres in 2014).
He is probably the closest to a Hyacinth Macaw, a very endangered parrot from South America. Other then Blue and Jewel in the movies, the Hyacinth Macaw is not yet down to 2 individuals but a total of three main populations in the wild which struggle to stay above 500 birds and thousands of Zoo and private kept parrots.
