Hey nonny nonny wants to travel around England, Well this doesn't really qualify, but Le Crotoy is at the mouth of the Somme, and given that this year is the centenary of the outbreak of the Great War where so many British and then Empire men died, many on the Somme especially, we thought it appropriate that he visited.

The Dover Patrol was a Royal Navy flotilla of small ships that patrolled the Straights of Dover during the Great War in order to safeguard the passages of millions of men going to the western front. During the period of thr Great War not a single person being carried across the channel was lost due to enemy action, thanks to the efforts of the Dover based force. The memorial erected in the 1920's was blown up by the Germans during the Second World War. It was rebuilt by the French in the 1960's.
