About This Item

ELLIS ISLAND.jpg

My Father arrived on Ellis Island in 1926, at the age of six. My grandfather, a general in the Polish Army during WWI, had the scoop...it was time for the family to get out of Dodge
...so he and my grandmother packed up the kids (my Dad & my Uncle) and took a boat to New York. 80 years later, here I am...a geocacher living the good life in Florida. This coin holds a lot of meaning for me.

The USA would be in much better shape if they made today like it was back then, Ellis Island of the 21st century.

A very nice coin. My grandfather was another one of the many who had come through here. Unfortunately we have never been able to find records of him there, and know nothing of his life before then as he had changed his name. Thanks for sharing Jersey Girl.
