Feuerwehr-Schlauch - Tools of the firefighters

Please take me from cache to cache! I will be especially happy to visit firestations all around the world while traveling. Evenutally I would like to go to California and visit a firestation from the colleagues of the CDF / CalFire department.

This trackable is dedicated to all the Austrian firefighters who dedicate their spare time to help other people in need.

I grew up on in the suburbs of a smalll city in the south of Austria. Most of my school friends were joining football clubs but I became a volunteer fireman at the local firestation - mostly thanks to my grandfather who was also a volunteer fireman there. He was the one telling me about the latest fire alarms, taking me to see the exercises of the firemen, showing me their events and celebrations. He was also the one who taught me the principle of being a firefighter  - to rescue, protect, salvage and to save lifes.Over the years I grew up and many things have changed but I am still a proud member of the volunteer firefighter brigade. For more than 17 years I have been following the principles of the firefighters and I am very grateful that we have the concept of helping others without personal advantages.

This is why I would like to dedicate this travel bug to all volunteer firefighters in Austria - my homeland. The travel bug itself is a "Feuerwehr-Schlauch KAT C." - a standard hose used to transport water. Usually this hose is connected to a "Strahlrohr" to fight the flames efficiently.

The current goal of this firefighting tool is to travel to California and to visit CalFire fire deparments there. I would be very happy if you can take some photos of the travelbug at firestation and share them here.
