Goal: Travel from cache to cache in search of BRAAAAINS. Visit Geocaching events. Spread the plague. Please take photos!
Meet Wesley a zombie who has become patient number sixty-six in our study of the propagation of the zombie plague via geocaching. Wesley was a landfill technology engineer with a passion for scratch and sniff technology. He had one of the largest collections of scratch and sniff items anywhere (it was documented by Guiness), and especially focused on the Mello Smello product line. Wesley had been working hard to create puzzle caches that were findable only by using the sense of smell. He was also very involved in landfill community outreach, and gave numerous lectures at a local high school, Liberty High.
We are nearly certain that Wesley contracted the virus from Harlan, Patient # 2. Harlan had visited Liberty High School on more than one occasion to provide lectures on both his field of Environmental Geology, and seminars on creating earthcaches. We have some evidence to indicate that they both gave lectures there on the same day on more than one occasion. Additionally, cache logs records show that they did some caching together around Liberty Reservoir.
This travel bug is part of a larger study to take a closer look at how the zombie plague might propagate if the primary vector for spreading the disease was geocaching. Please visit the following website for further details, and a visualization of how the disease has propagated thus far based on the movement and discovery of this and other infected Zombie travel bugs:
