To travel the coast of Queensland including the Great Barrier Reef islands and return to Bundaberg one day.
This is a week to celebrate! The first laying turtle has made the trip up Mon Repos beach this last weekend of Oct 2013. This area is known as the largest loggerhead turtle rookery in the South Pacific.
In January 2013, record floods swept away 60 per cent of the eggs and closed the season before its usual finish in March. This week marks the start of a new beginning with the first turtle returning to lay for the new season.
We are sending our Mon Repos turtle out to celebrate the resilience of these amazing sea creatures.
