The mission of this travel bug, A Scout is Cheerful, is to travel to all 48 contiguous states in the United States of America.
This Travel Bug was released by BSAeagle60 as part of the Geocaching Merit Badge in Milford, Connecticut. Requirement 8B requires a scout to release a scouting-related travel bug into the world of geocaching, and monitor its activity. The owner, myself, is an Eagle Scout, and Geocaching was the 76th and final merit badge earned before my advancement was forced to a halt by the arrival of my eighteenth birthday in January 2014; Scouts cannot advance after their eighteenth birthdays. The 8th point of the Boy Scout law states that "A Scout is Cheerful." A Scout is cheerful as he does his good turn daily, and a scout helps others to be cheerful. I hope that this bug is able to make geocachers around the country a little happier.
