This travel bug is a diecast model of the Lockheed P-38 Lightening. This aircrat was used extensively as a long range escort fighter when equipped with drop tanks under it's wings.

Dieser Reisekäfer ist ein  Modell des Lockheed P-38 Lightening. Das Flugzeug wurde weitgehend als Begleitjagdflugzeug für langen Strecken benutzt, es war mit Benzintanken aus gerüstet.
