About This Item

Hi! I am an 8 year old Geo-kid from Australia.

The coin "Senor Amigo" will be put out mid August 2006.
Although it is a "not another micro coin" it can travel to any sized cache.

Yes, I know that "Senor Amigo" is a weird name so I will tell you what it means. It means "Mr. Friend" in spanish.
It is named after my Axolotl (Mexican walking fish)"Amigo"

This coin is the first one I have ever had, so can everyone please take good care of him.

Cheers

Freaky Geeky

Number one Venango County find for us today. We've set ourselves the goal of getting at least 4 counties this weekend, and so we're on a time schedule to try and do so before dark. As we enter the winter months the days get shorter and shorter. First light is not until almost 7:30am and it's dark by just after 5pm. This cache may be named "short walk" but it's a round trip of almost a mile through the game lands. We donned our orange outfits and set off at a brisk pace to grab the cache. It was found in short order and we were soon back in our car ready to grab the next one on our route. Only 5 left to go until nightfall!

WhoooHooo! Number 6 Crawford County Cache for the day and 6 stamps in our passport! This is not an easy task and the caches may look easy in theory, but there a lot more involved than meets the eye. We've done some hefty hiking to get this far and many of the caches we've grabbed to this point have been through PA State Game Lands, which means that we've had to wear bright orange vests or hats to avoid being accidentally shot at by hunters as we've hiked through the woods on the way to GZ. It's a pretty eerie sensation hearing gunshots all around us. Quite a feat to even get to GZ, let alone retrieve the cache, sign the log, stamp the passport and get out again unscathed!!! We wonder how many times over this weekend we've been in a hunter's sights as he searched for game (and we searched for the cache) ... a pretty scary thought! Now onto Venango County ...

It's been a while since Senor Amigo and Lightening McQueen have been able to come out on a decent caching run with Team EskimoZooKeeper. Man has it been a crazy time here in the States lately!!! This weekend, however, that was all set to change and the only craziness going on was of the caching variety! A new series of caches have been released in a publicly funded project that spans 10 Counties across Pennsylvania to promote the Allegheny National Forest region and its gateway communities. 23,100 acres of the Allegheny National Recreation Area are preserved and protected under the Pennsylvania Wilderness Act ensuring the natural scenery and history of the area is always available for us to enjoy. It's a land of supreme beauty and majesty and is dotted with untouched patches of paradise that truly take your breath away. We had the pleasure of visiting 4 counties over this weekend and it was definitely an experience we wouldn't have missed for the world! To take part in this new series of caches, we were to located and log at least 6 specifically designated by the AGT committee. As proof of our find we were not only to log on the cache page, but to stamp our passport with the specially designed stamp inside each of the caches in the series. This was the first of the Allegheny Geo Trail Caches we located and those 2 Aussie Geo Coins came along for the ride! What a great experience we all had here!

We found this after this month's coffee event. Happy Yeti convinced us to go hunt with him, in the dark no less, after he'd had trouble finding this one a few times previously. So off we headed in a little caravan to try our luck. At 6ft we dived in to see what we could come up with and after a brief search ... well lookie here ... there it was! Thanks for the fun and the prickly hide!

Out and about after the 1 K event to celebrate the most recent class of 1000 finds and grabbing a few caches with Lightening McQueen, Senor Amigo, Happy Yeti and his son D, Team Dot One and Geomorphmatt. Oh man! Was this one a doosey! We searched, we scrambled, we poked at and prodded, we unturned, we grumbled, we climbed under, looked over, sat down and thought, we scratched our heads, we moaned and searched some more ... we even sat and stared! This was such a great hide ... what a relief to finally have it in our hands ... great work Michael TDO ... yipppeee ya went with a hunch and ... the rest is history! YUP ... WE'RE DOING THE HAPPY DANCE!
