We found this back on 2.10.2014 but for some reason the Zombie forgot to log that we had picked it up....So sorry to the whole class for his oversight!! I (the Dragonfly) will complete the task and write a little about our day below:
We found the Adobe Bug on a beautiful day after the deluge of rains back in February that brought 20 inches of rain in Napa over the prior 3 days. The day of our hike was mostly cloudy, but the sun did peek out a couple of times to warm us up a bit. This was our first visit to Skyline Wilderness Park and it did not disappoint!
This cache was a special bonus as it filled in a square for us on the California DeLorme Challenge (GC 1M0M0) and an early calendar month (9/12/2000) for our Jasmer Challenge. Considering this cache (GC111) was hidden in 12/24/2000, that makes it one of the oldest caches in the world!! Woo Hoo! Out of all of our 1000+ geocaches we've found only one other geocache that was older than this one, Rabbit Eye View GC9C hidden on 10/27/2000!! We gave this geocache one of our favorite points as well.
The Dragonfly (me) spotted the cache before The Zombie had even arrived at GZ (ground zero). We took a dinosaur, left a zombie clown and a dragonfly charm and took your travel bug too!
The Zombie and I will be heading to a romantic little hotel in Pacifica, CA this weekend for a short getaway so we will probably take Adobe Bug with us and leave it down there so it can enjoy the seaside views from a high bluff nearby.
