The mission of this Knight is to travel back to England to a cache site as close as possible to Museum of The Order of St. John, St. John's Gate, St. John's Lane, London EC1M 4DA. Along the way he would like to visit as many Castles, Priories, Abbeys, Cathedrals or Knights Templar sites or meeting places as possible. Please post pictures of any interesting sites he visits.
Jean Parisot de Valette was a Knight of St. John all his adult life and fought with distinction defending the Island of Malta in many campaigns. He became Grand Master of the Knights of St. John on 21 August 1557.
After the great siege of Malta in 1565, he commissioned the construction of the new city of Valletta in 1566, laying the first stone with his own hands.
This Knights final destination, St John's Gate in London, was originally the main entrance to a Priory of the Knights of St. John (also known as the Knights of Malta). The gateway building now houses the headquarters of the Order of the Hospital of St. John (commonly known as the St. John Ambulance) and also contains the Museum of the Order of St John.
