What are Belgian Fries?
 
  • made from the best fresh potatoes, rich in vitamins
  • hand-cut, at least 11 mm thick, irregularly shaped
  • cooked Belgian style (fried twice)
  • fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside
  • a distinct potato taste, low in fat and calories
  • served in a paper cone, topped up with a sauce
    ( we prefer mayonaise )

 

 Belgian Fries History
 
  • Fries were 'invented' in Belgium some 200 years ago. Some believe they are older and were first created in Spain, others are convinced they were a French creation (biggest lie ever).
  • During the 20th century fry shacks could be found around every street corner in Belgium and the north of France. A lot of them have disappeared since because they were 'a stain on the urban landscape'.
     
  • All this doesn't really matter. Fact is the best 'French Fries' are found in Belgian fry shops (there still are over 4,500 of them!). And another fact is they are the most popular fast food on earth.
