About This Item

My friend, and fellow geocacher, Squarehead, carved this great looking travel bug for me.
Dale is a talented wood carver, who creates some very distinctive walking sticks, using wood from several of our Grays Harbor native trees. This travel bug is carved from a small piece of Indian Plum.
I would like to see this mountain man travel freely, and when possible, to have digital images posted with other interesting wood carvings along his route.

As I originally intended for this bug, he is in the mountains of Central Oregon in a cache near a wonderful cabin. Lets hope he moves along and doesn't winter there.

When I traded this TB with another I also had a friends teenage son with me. Thought I was doing a good thing teaching him how to use his GPS. I was wrong , he muggled this and another TB. His father found them and returned them to me since he couldn't trust his son to return them to the caches he took them from. Will be dropping them in another cache shortly. Will also be e-mailing the cache owners to let them know.

I have a photo of this guy, but I'll have to upload it when I have more battery life.

Here's the photo of Hoquiam Man during his travels (and ours) through Crator Lake National Park. We were hoping to get his picture with the Old Man of the Lake, but the East rim drive was closed due to snow.

  • Hoquiam Man at Crator Lake He's hard to see, but that's him. Just thought you would like to know where he's been.

Neat guy! We will find somewhere cool for him to wait for his next cacher/ride.
