I was a true slow starter in geocaching. But May 17, 2014 turned out to be the kickoff of the year I actually came out as a Geocacher. During this year I started to attend events, finding T5 caches, meeting new geocaching friends, releasing my first own geocaches and finding myself getting into disgusting holes and abandoned structures. Still much to discover, to try and to learn. And its only getting more and more exciting!
I started to go geocaching every day, wondering for how long it would work out and still be funny. Maybe one month or two? One week passed quickly. One month. The summer. Six months. End of 2014. I never thought I would make it through the snowy winter. But the challenge became a part of my everyday life and put an extra twist to this sport. On May 16, the anniversary of this daily project, I released thirty geocaches that I had been working on for months and I hosted my first event, Välkommen ut!. This coin is a symbol of how geocaching includes so much of what is joy to me: Outdooring, creativity, intelligence, beauty, crafting, friendship, thrill, spirit, surprise, adventure… I just love it!
