My mission is to travel with AFCarterFamily to celebrate their 200th geocaching find!
Anubis has many roles in ancient Egyptian culture. To some, he was the protector of graves, or an embalmer associated with mummification. Anubis was eventually replaced by the god Osiris as Lord of the Underworld, but he is often most recognized as a symbol of the Afterlife. He attended the weighing scale during the "Weighing of the Heart," in which it was determined whether a soul would be allowed to enter the realm of the dead.
To us, he will be our guardian against DNFs, and will pass ultimate judgement on which caches get a Favorite Point.

Hieroglyphs are the standard written form of the name Anubis. According to the Akkadian transcription in the Amarna letters, Anubis' name (inpw) was vocalized in Egyptian as Anapa.
