Current Goal

Bidarka Parka wants to travel from the ends of the earth studying Global Warming. He originated in Valdez Alaska and would like to travel to the South Pole and then back to the North Pole again. Please keep him safe on his journey!

About This Item

Keeping Coooool!

Bidarka Parka is a creamy colored Polar Bear that was named after the sealskin boats used by the Aleuts and Southern Alaskan Eskimos. Bidarka Parka can also skim across the water swimming on his back or front and loves diving under icebergs too. Bidarka Parka is very worried about Global Warming and the fact that it has caused his beloved polar icecaps to melt.

We found a damp and moldy bear, braving the elements alone, a few weeks ago more than 20ft from where we believed the cache to be. We thought someone had simply forgotten to replace him into the cache (which, at that time, we never found). He had no travel bug tag and I wasn't aware of the inventory of the cache itself so I had no idea he might be part of a TB. Believing him to be a now damaged trinket - we threw the bear away because he'd simply become litter in the park.

We located the cache this afternoon though and the tag wasn't in the cache. Now seeing the inventory, I believe the lone bear we threw away a couple of weeks ago might have been a half portion of the missing TB. If so, I am hopeful that someone snagged the tag, leaving the bear behind, but forgot to log that they'd done so.

Hopefully it shows up though, whether as the whole set or the tag itself, so that it can continue on it's travels.
