About This Item

8 nation First Finder Geocoin

Bought a couple of these coins to use as FTF reward for a new cache. It is intended to honor the Native Americans as the original First Finders. Our super friends NoCache-NoCredit told us they are using their 100 Finds Achieviement Geocoin as a personal travel bug. We thought it was a great idea and decided to keep one of the coins as our personal TB to go on all of our cache hunts. Thanks for the idea NCNC!

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/31/2008 GoodHunting retrieved it from Goldenwood Illinois   Visit Log

What a great weekend with NoCache-NoCredit. We did celebration dances for 999 1000 and 1001 😁 We introduced new people to caching, and had a fun road trip on the back roads over to Decatur. I think I had twenty total for the weekend - NCNC had a handful more. It is a lot of fun to have caching partners. We also had some time to play some cribbage which the ladies enjoyed.

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/13/2008 GoodHunting retrieved it from Prince Charlie's Bonnie Cache Northern Scotland, United Kingdom   Visit Log

We stopped at this battlefield and were given an hour. Mrs G headed for the gift shop and I headed for the cache. Luckily I found it quickly and had time to visit the battlefield as well. Left the Lincoln-Cheesehead coin. Second and last cache of the trip but I think I should get partial credit for three caches that were less than 300 feet from the bus as we drove by.

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/10/2008 GoodHunting retrieved it from Alexander (Graham) Bell Birthplace United Kingdom   Visit Log

It’s “interesting” to cache with a motor coach full of people that have never heard of Geocaching and want to be somewhere else. Just kidding. Arrival day there was nothing planned, and most people slept as a cure for jet lag. Mrs G and I went to a weekend outdoor “craft” market several blocks from our hotel. After a couple hours of shopping, we went for this nano (believe it or not.) It is across the street for Alexander Graham Bell’s birth place. You guessed it – it is in a phone booth.

Retrieve It from a Cache 7/2/2008 GoodHunting retrieved it from I-26 Side Light (Exit 5, Hwy 11) South Carolina   Visit Log

Had a great day of driving some “lesser” roads through the Carolinas and Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky, and learning about Davey Crocket and Andrew Johnson. Caching was so so. Started the day with DNF after DNF in North Carolina, never did get a NC cache but that’s OK it was already a red State. Switched Kentucky and Virginia to red states. Got only seven in total.

Retrieve It from a Cache 7/1/2008 GoodHunting retrieved it from Blaik's Birthday Party Georgia   Visit Log

Found 8, 2 DNF and 3 rest area caches with multiple DNF logs so we didn’t try. At least we made sure South Carolina is a red State. Enjoyed a quiet ride up the Georgia low land coast on route 17 (better than I-95 under construction) It was one of the drives from Sally’s scenic drive book.
