Kalessin: Travel Dragon Geocoin

Your mission is to keep Kalessin traveling around the world in search of places where dragons and humans can meet. Very few of you will actually meet a live dragon. If you do, please take a photo of it!

Kalessin, or "the eldest", is the oldest of the dragons in the story of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin about the magician schoolboy Ged, a story that (must have!) influenced Harry Potter. Kalessin is by size immense, and his or her (it has been argued that dragons do not have a gender) body is iron black and scarred. The wings of Kalessin is red and the eyes are yellow. Like all other dragons Kalessin speaks the Old Speech, which is described as the language of magic or termed spellwords by some. Kalessin inhabits the island "Keep of Kalessin", an island with sheer basalt cliffs three hundred feet high. The Keep of Kalessin belongs to a small cluser of rocky islands called the Dragon's Run. 

In their meeting, Kalessin told Ged about the relationship between humans and dragons: 

"Once we were one people. And in sign of that, in every generation of men, one or two are born who are dragons also. And in every generation of our people, longer than the quick lives of men, one of us is born who is also human."  [The Dragon Council, OW]

Kalessin's mission is to show Ged the relationship between humans and dragons, in a travel around the world searching for places where dragons and humans can possibly meet. Today, dragons are mostly represented as images, statues or monuments, and probably very few of you will actually meet a live one. If you do, please take a photo of it!

PS. Kalessin is not a coldhearted dragon, but beware: Do not keep it for a long time as it will learn your real name and then take command over you.
