Crystal Orb of Opportunity

The sport of geocaching has opened many doors to new experiences and places. It might have exposed you to a local park you didn't even know was there. Or it might have given you someplace neat to visit while on vacation that you otherwise would never have found. Solving puzzle caches may have introduced you to the wonders of cryptography, Sudoku, and other number games. Maybe it's given you a way to talk to your kids. Who knows? Maybe it's introduced you to your spouse. The sport's philosophy of CITO helps us all to remember to protect and take care of the world around us. What has geocaching done for you?

Grabbed this over at the "California Invades" geocache. I was there looking to see if my biker sally tb was still in the cache. It wasn't. :| Hopefully it will turn up.

As for the orb, it's definitely different. Geocaching has helped me become more familiar with the various parks in the area. Without geocaching, I never would have known most of these places existed.

I'll move the knob up north next month.

Will move along. Goecaching has taken me up mountain sides to vistas overlooking the Hudson river, almost had me step on a very irritated rattle snake while staring at GPS screen, into a crack hotel parking lot at night and have two doors open as I got out quickly, put me in a swamp park near Miami I would never have visited, hiking through briars and nettles in England with young nephews, and countless other adventures. It's not about the cache, it's about the journey.
