About This Item

Prof. Dr. Karl Landsteiner memorial coin received for donating blood for many years.

Landsteiner discovered the different blood types (A, B, and C, later 0) and thus made blood transfusion possible.

For that archievement he was rewarded the Nobel price for Medicine in 1930.
