1. To make it to Tennessee. I don't get down to Tennessee as much as I used to anymore. I LOVE country music. Please take this TB to Nashville to visit places like the Grand Ole Opry, country music concerts, and anything else country music related. A picture of my TB in the hands of country stars, if you're so lucky and inclined, or on the graves of deceased country musicians like Johnny Cash, George Jones, and/or Keith Whitley would be fantastic! I want my TB to make its rounds through some caches in downtown Nashville.
2. To make it to Mount Rushmore. I believe there is a cache there. A picture and a visit would be fantastic!
3. To make it to either/or the Groundspeak Headquarters, the Original First Stash Plaque in Oregon, the Cache-Advance headquarters (or nearby cache) in Spokane, and other places of interest for geocachers in the northwest. Please post pictures.
4. To make it to Texas. I'd love to see it make it all the way to San Antonio, Houston, Laredo, Lubbock, El Paso, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and any other areas of Texas as desired. (While in Dallas, spending the night near Dealey Plaza would be amazing.) Please post pictures.
5. Alaska and Hawaii would be cool places to see my TB. Please post pictures.
6. In fact, I want my TB to make it all across the south. Please post pictures at any possible notable caches and points of interest.
7. I'd love to see my TB make it overseas to either England, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, or any English speaking countries. Please post pictures.
8. To make it back to a cache near home in Maryland in one piece after many of the goals have been completed.
This trackable is the first I ever put out. It's the first in a series honoring my family, starting with myself. IMPORTANT: If at all possible, pictures of my TB at notable caches and points of interest that it visits would be SO appreciated!!!
I am from Maryland farm country. I have been a geocacher for over a year now. My dad's cousin, a prolific geocacher in New York, got me interested last summer by pictures she posted on Facebook of geocaching excursions. The day I ordered this trackable I got my 350th geocache (2-350 happened between November 2012 and August of 2013.) The plan is to place this in my 400th cache.
I am a cache owner, a cache finder... I love everything caching related. I once accidentally signed a paper at work 'Rural Seeker' and then had to reprint it. We have a coffee money jar at work for the purchase of more coffee supplies. I once considered taking a dime, leaving a quarter and travel bug, writing TFTC on a piece of paper, and hiding it in a UPS for the next person to find. I decided against it and figured that might be overkill.
I am not picky. I love nanos, micros, any size swag ready container. I love a challenge, I love a C&D, and I am even still tolerant of the LPC and guardrail hides... for now. I just require that they are creative. If it's an LPC or guardrail hide, I prefer a creative container. I am just as content walking down a business park to grab a guardrail hide as I am walking through the woods for a swag sized container. I even love micros in the woods!
I am a member of the Maryland Geocaching Society and sometimes go to events.
I listen to/watch the Geosnippits Reboot Podcast with Andy 'HeadHardHat' Smith and Dave 'Debaere' Debaeremaeker.
I participated in the August 2013 31 Days of Geocaching challenge.
My closest unfound cache is 6 miles or more from my home.
My favorite things to leave in caches are keychains, carabiners, pins, kids' toys, and CITO kits (a plastic bag for CITO stuffed in a film can or pill bottle) just to keep the spirit of CITO alive all year long. I have left almost everything imaginable under $5 of value in a cache. Every time we clean out a cabinet, closet or car and every time we have the ability to get anything for free or go to swap meets, dollar stores and garage sales, I am always loading up stuff into my swag bag so it ends up in a cache. (There's nothing more awesome than filling up your swag bag for free or almost free.)
Disclaimer: This trackable, like all other travel bugs, travel tags, and geocoins, is the property of someone else who is not you. Do not take this with the intention of keeping it indefinitely as it is paramount to stealing, and please make sure it continues to move. If you have no intention of moving it toward completing its goals or are in any way unsure that you will be able to be responsible with its care and travel, please leave it in the cache you found it in for a cacher who will. Additionally, please do not place this TB in caches that have a record or high chance of being muggled. I don't need my TB being muggled.
