Cocoa the Monkey’s trip to England

We would like our trackable, Cocoa the Monkey, to visit England. When he gets to England we want him to visit Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Stonehenge, and the Tower of London.
Cocoa might enjoy visiting the Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace was built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham. Then in 1837, it became the palace for future kings and queens. The Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms. About 52 of these rooms are royal and guest bedrooms. The palace also has a church, post office, surgeon room, and movie theater. There are over 350 clocks kept in Buckingham Palace. More than 50,000 people visit Buckingham Palace each year for parties, meals, and tea parties.
He may also like Big Ben. Big Ben was built in the years of 1843-1858 by John Warner and Sons. Big Ben’s name is Clock Face but people call it Big Ben. Its name describes the tower itself. Big Ben was the tallest tower of the nineteenth century. The clock is 316 feet tall and 25 feet wide. Big Ben is sixteen tons. Clock Face temporarily hung in the palace courtyard but never finished being built in that location.
He would probably enjoy Stonehenge. Each stone that makes up Stonehenge weighs 50 tons. The stones are made out of a material called Sarsen. Some people think it was used as an astronomical observatory for marking events on the prehistoric calendar. The inner circle of stones is believed to be from the Prescelly Mountains in Wales and they were moved all the way to Wiltshire, England. Stonehenge was thought to be complete around 1500 B.C.
We think he will also love the Tower of London. The Tower of London is a high class attraction of England with quite a history. It has been standing for over 900 years. It’s also home to the main attraction of England the crown of jewels. The tower was used as a prison for famous and infamous prisoners such as thieves or deposed royalty. Monarchs used the basement of the White Tower for torture, said a man named Guy Fawkes that lived through a torture. The people that guard the tower are now called Beefeaters.

We want to send Cocoa the Monkey to the Bahamas to see a Yellow Elder, Malayan Palm Tree, and to visit Nassau. We hope you can help us get Coco the Monkey to these areas.
The Malayan Coconut Palm Trees are popular landscaping trees in the Bahamas. This tree has been used for food, oil, fuel, building material, and rope. The palm tree is commonly found all over the Bahamas and it provides lots of coconuts. Malayan palm trees hold a crown of fronds that are based on a solid trunk which is like a caramel color and the ripe, brown coconuts hang under the leaves.
The Yellow Elder is native to the Bahamas Islands, and it blooms throughout the year. The Yellow Elder is a tubular yellow flower with ultra-fine red stripes on each petal. It blooms on a tree that can grow up 20 feet. The little bells are held in a 5-point calyx. There are nine to thirteen leaflets composing the odd pinnate leaf.
Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas. It is located in New Providence. Nassau’s population is 248,998. The Nassau harbor is located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. The National Park in Nassau has over 150 exotic palm trees. It is open to the public Monday to Friday. Nassau is just 180 miles of the coast of southern Flordia.

Mission #2 Cocoa is off to Kenya!!

Our trackable monkey, Cocoa is on his way to Kenya. I’d like him to see the Kenya Flag. Kenya’s flag was adopted on December 12, 1963. The flag is black, red, and white with a traditional Masai shield in the center. It is two feet tall, and three feet wide. The black on the flag represents the people, the red on the flag represents the blood, the green represents the natural wealth, and the white represents the peace. Also the Masai shield and spears represents the defense of freedom.
While Cocoa is in Kenya, I’d like him to try different traditional foods. One dish Kenyans eats is called Ugali. It is cornmeal cooked in water to where it is thick. It is poured on a board or plate where everybody can eat from. Another dish is Sukumu Wiki. It is a dish of greens like collards or Kale. It can also be made with Cassava leaves, Sweet potato leave s or even Pumpkin leaves. One other meal is Nyama Chama. It is meat like goat or muttonae that is roasted over an open fire. It is eaten with Ugali. They also eat lots of veggies like yams, beans and taro. They eat lots of stews. They sometimes pull off a piece of Ugali. Then make a little hole with their thumb. They use it like a spoon and scoop up the stew.
Cocoa might also like to see The Kenya elephant, which is the world’s largest land mammal. It is characterized by its dexterous trunk, and massive ears. They are part of the “Big 5”, or are one of the most famous Kenyan animals. A Kenya elephants large ears can serve many purposes. The ears’ large surface area helps radiate excess heat under the harsh African sun. The ears are also often used to communicate visually. They use their trunk for… smelling, breathing, detecting vibrations, caressing their young, sucking up water, and grasping things. Both the male and female Kenya elephants possess tusks which are modified incisor teeth. Although tusks are present at birth, the baby tusks fall out a year, and permanent ones replace them.
We would also like Cocoa to see Mount Kenya, which is the second highest mountain in Africa and the highest in Kenya. It is a volcano that is about 3 billion years old. Mount Kenya is located on the equator. Since it is equatorial mountain, the day and night are each 12 hours long. Sunrise is usually about 5:30 in the morning and sunset is usually about 5:30 at night. There is only a 1 minute difference in the shortest day and the longest day. Mount Kenya is the centerpiece of Mount Kenya National Park, and is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site for its unique geology and natural history.
