Deze coin is uitgebracht door de Deventer Cachers Gilde ter ere van hun lustrum.

Deventer is een stad, gemeente en oude Hanzestad in het oosten van Nederland en in het zuidwesten van de provincie Overijssel. De stad is gelegen aan de IJssel. In het zuidwesten van de gemeente mondt deSchipbeek uit in de IJssel. Met 98.465 inwoners (1 mei 2013, bron: CBS), is Deventer de derde gemeente van Overijssel en de op één na grootste gemeente van Salland.

Deventer is een van de vijf oudste steden van Nederland en heeft een langegeschiedenis. De plaats staat al in 9e eeuwse bronnen van het bisdom Utrechtvermeld. In een oorkonde uit 877 wordt gesproken over zeven hoeven inDaventre portu  (de haven Deventer). In 952 wordt Deventer in een schenkingsoorkonde van koning Otto I als stad vermeld.Nadat de plaats in de loop der tijd steeds meer rechten en privileges had verworven, ontving ze in1123 van keizer Hendrik V de beschikking over de gemeentelijke gronden. Dit wordt door historici beschouwd als het moment van verkrijgen vanstadsrechten door de inwoners. De stad heeft het oudste stenen huis, hetoudste wandelpark en met de Athenaeumbibliotheek ook de oudste wetenschappelijke bibliotheek van Nederland.
