I want to get as close as possible to the address 36 Rue de Vaugirard in Paris where one of the two remaining original meters are kept in its original place!
The metre or meter (American spelling), (SI unit symbol: m), is the fundamental unit of length in the International System of Units (SI). Since 1983, it has been defined as the distance traveled by light in a specific fraction of a second. The metre was originally defined in 1793 as one ten-millionth of the distance at sea level from the Earth's equator to the North Pole. Since then, the definition has been changed three times (in 1889, 1960 and 1983) with developments in metrology.
This TB is only a half meter.
