Return back to Finland to my geocache Satu-Pekka (GC6JYGP) in Vantaa.
Relascope I was lost soon, thus a new trial.
Forests and forest research have always been important to me, both as a job and as a source of recreation. Relascope invented by Austrian forest researcher Walter Bitterlich is a simple but ingenious tool used in forest mesuration. Relascope is used to measure stand basal area and timber volume. Relascope consist of a chain with precise length and rigid slab attached to it. The slab has one or more apertures with precise width. It must be held at a fixed distance from your eye. You must then count trees that are larger than the width of the angle gauge.
