Current Goal

The current goal is to make it to the Himitsu-Bako cache in Spokane, Washington, USA - GC58VPH. From there we will find another Himitsu-Bako to send the coins to.

Past goal:

The first goal of this trackable was to make it from one Himitsu-Bako cache (GC4WR3K, in Melbourne Australia) to another (GC1NYHP in Canberra Australia). This took exactly 7 months from January 14 to August 14, 2014!

Japanese Holey Coins

 

The 5- and 50-Yen Japanese coins have holes in them. Once upon a time this technique was used to reduce cost of production (less metal) and make them harder to counterfeit. The mint still keeps them in production and they are very cool. Check out this Japan Times article for more information on how they came to be.
