Current Goal

Because of my mommy and her family I am alive today. I was a rescue puppy who was abused and neglected. I want to tell as many people as I can about my story so other abused/neglected puppies can be rescued like me. So, please keep this coin going and share your own story about your favorite four legged friend.

About This Item

My name is Khloee and I am a six year old Shih Tzu who loves to go Geocaching with my family. My life story became a happy story once my family rescued me.

My story starts when my mommy moved to Oregon in 2006. After about two years she was very lonely and wanted a four legged companion. Her father started searching for the perfect Christmas present for her, a puppy. He came to my house and found me. I was about four months old, I was not wanted by my owner who breeded my biological parents just to make some quick cash. I was yellow from my own urine, I was scared and shook all over. My grandpaw picked me up and took me home. That night I got my first bath (I had a few more later to try to get me unyellow), my first toy and my first lesson on were to go potty. I was still scared and I still shook but they loved me. About a week before Christmas, my grandma and grandpaw took me on my first airplane flight to Oregon. In the airports, people would try to pet me but I was too scared to let them. I didn't know if they would hurt me like my old owners.  I was scared, but I knew that grandpaw wouldn't let anything happen to me. When we landed in Oregon, grandma put a Christmas bow on my head and I got to meet my mommy for the first time. I was scared at first, I wouldn't stop shaking and I was ashamed because I was still slightly yellow from my previous home. But with a lot of love and a lot of patience, my mommy helped me learn to love people again.

Now my mommy and I go everywhere together. We love to take trips and go geocaching. Sometimes my little legs can't get through the tall stuff or I get tired on the long trips so my mommy loads me in her backpack. Because of my love for geocaching and I wanted people to take care around other dogs, I bought this geocoin with my "Good Doggie Points." Please remember when you see me or one my four legged friends that:

1. Every dog deserves to be loved, please check out your local rescue shelters before buying a dog. Sometimes you find the perfect match for yourself. I know I did.

2. Before approaching a dog, please ask the owner if it is okay. Sometimes I get scared and nervous when people run up to me.

3. Ask before you feed me, sometimes I get a little too much junk food which makes me sick to my stomach.

Have fun geocaching and take care!

Love, Khloee Jo
