The coin has a split personality, it is a geocoin and a matching travel tag. It has two goals which it will work toward at the same time. It wants to stay in my collection and be discovered by geocachers and it wants to visit Geocaching HQ.
The geocoin will stay in my collection and go to events and get admired and logged by geocachers, at the same time the path tag will travel the world getting pictures and log entries from all its adventures. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too.
If you can take it to the Geocaching HQ or the site of the Original Stash that would be great.
This geocoin looks like the logbook at Geocaching HQ, but when you open up the Geocaching HQ geocoin, you will find all the Lackeys. Just like in real life they are not visible from the outside but geocaching could not function with out them.
A "Groundspeak Lackey" is a term used to refer to the employees and founders of Groundspeak who do the most basic tasks to support the overall needs of the community. This willingness to serve each other and provide recreation for a worldwide community is a core value of our company.
They accept the term Lackey with pride since we are beholden to the community for our success. Like the satelites we use to find caches, we almost never see them yet we all know geocaching just would not work with out them and all of their hard work and long hours.
