Large coin with lots of heft. The front has excellent 3-D work and matt blue enamel for the sky. The jeep protrudes fromt he coin survace and the far wheel in done in relief. The attention to detail is everywhere and this coin is one of the best examples of 3-D metal work I have seen. The rim says "Yellow Jeep Fever, The Legend Of Wyle E". The rim even has a continuing design. The reverse Has the outline of the state of AZ and wonderful enamel colors surrounding the metal star in the center. The state outline has two plants (a cactus and an evergreen) by it. The rim work continues with Native American Indian art work and says "Arizona Geocachers 2006 AZgeocaching.com". This is coin number 258. Excellent coin.
Info on the coin: 1000 coins were produced, 800 of which were in antique copper and 200 in antique silver.
On one side of the 46 x 4 mm coin is the outline of the state of Arizona with the Arizona flag integrated into it in the official colors with a raised star.
The Saguaro Cactus and the Ponderosa Pine seem to grow out of the coin themselves due to their 3D design. The petroglyphs and the text ARIZONA GEOCACHERS AZGEOCACHING.COM in the outer circle ring are embedded in the surface of the coin in rich contrast.
The other side shows a great view of the Superstition Mountains along with a jeep in 3D and the symbolic Saguaro cactus.
All three motifs, but especially the jeep, stand out from the coin surface in a beautiful 3D effect and are spanned by a dark blue sky.
In the outer ring is YELLOW JEEP FEVER at the top.
This is the title of one of the most popular locationless or reverse geocaches in the early years: Yellow Jeep Fever, released in March 2002 by the CBX2 team, which has been active since February 2001.
With this cache, the mark of 300 caches found by the "Wyle E" team was celebrated.
In order to log the cache, a yellow jeep (no matter which model) had to be photographed and the photo had to be posted together with the GPS coordinates where the picture was taken.
The background was the story that in those early years of caching in Arizona, the well-known yellow jeep "WYLE E" of the cache team often drove away from a cache location that other cachers were just driving to in the hope of an AGV. That's why THE LEGEND OF WYLE E.
So many of my GCs have been muggled that I only release new ones as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. LL

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
