Wow, that's very cool and honored to be asked to log this travel coin for the very first time. Yes, I gave up my 500 pin to Chuck and the CacheKidz family. As a gift I was given this by brother in-law Mr.G who now hardly caches back in 2008. It was an achievement I was proud at the time. I wore that pin for many years on my hat and backpack (3 years exactly I would consider many). This until I ran into Chuck and the family on a whale watching trip in 2011. As mentioned I spotted them at a webcam cache near the launch location for the trip. Saw them hanging around in line for the trip where we then got in line. You know how that goes, when people start getting in line everyone starts to pack the line.
Chuck was fumbling with his GPS'r and when he stopped I then asked the question if he was a cacher, sure enough they were. In our conversation Chuck mentioned they had approached 500 caches. I told him I remember hitting those milestones and always became goals for me throughout the years. We got on the boat and started out on the trip to the middle of the ocean. I'm not fond of boats on water. I tend to get seasick. So I planted myself at the rear of the boat incase I needed to, well you know. But before I found my spot at rear of the boat I remembered I had the 500 pin. I took it off and handed it over to Chuck who was already maneuvering themselves to the side of the boat. It was only fitting that I did. Chuck was surprised and accepted the pin. The 2 hour tour ended and I did not lose my cookies on this boat ride.
We said goodbye to the CacheKidz and went on our ways. One thing about caching, you meet some of the finest folks and if you're lucky some become friends. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet and friend the CacheKidz. Thanks again Chuck for the honor, you're alright!!!!
