The Travel Bug Dala Racing Horse is participating in the bugrace Sweden->SouthAfrica->Sweden.
Its goal is to reach the cache Sentinel View (GC185) in South Africa and to get photographed on its way.

About This Item

Dala Racing Horse

The start of the bugrace was during a cache event in Göteborg/Sweden on Saturday, February 14, 2004.

All Travel Bugs participating in the race have to follow some rules:

  • The travel bug has to visit 3 caches in each country it gets to. If a country has less than 3 caches, all caches of that country have to be visited.
  • Each geocacher can only handle one (in the race participating) travel bug at the same time and the same travel bug can only be handled once by each geocacher.
  • The travel bugs have to be personally transported by a geocacher from one cache to the other. It is not possible to ship or mail them.
  • Only geocachers are allowed to handle the travel bugs in the race. While owners of participating travel bugs are not allowed to handle their own or are racing bugs.
  • The travel bugs should only be placed in traditional or multi caches.
  • Once the Travel Bugs have reached the destination cache in South Africa they will have to return to a not-yet-determined cache in Sweden.

    Picked up DRH in Dorset - I think it might be ready to leave the UK and head towards South Africa. We'll try and get it to the Exeter TB hotel as things get picked up from there and taken long distances.
