About This Item

Beryl 3

Now on  to mk3 with  a laminated copy  tag  attached, still  as special  to me.

Beryl  1 and 2 were a small plush ladybird attached to its trackable tag by a metal chain. Both stolen, so let's try something different.

A keyring is also attached that provides information about the mission for those geocachers who don’t have instant internet access out in the woods.

The name "ladybird" originated in Britain where the insects became known as 'Our Lady's bird’ or the Lady beetle. Mary (Our Lady) was often depicted wearing a red cloak in early paintings, and the spots of the seven-spot ladybird (the most common in Europe) were said to symbolise her seven joys and seven sorrows. Ladybirds are the gardener’s friend eating aphids and small insects.
