Atlantic traveller wishes to travel from its home location in Scotland, in the north Atlantic, to its motherland....5000 miles south of the UK, the island of St Helena. This could be a mission and a half!! And am guessing it will take some time...but I dont often get the opportunity to visit myself, so would like to see if it could beat me! There are only a few routes into the island; via Ascension Island (a military base), then on the RMS ship, or via South Africa, and then again on the RMS ship. For anyone interested, there is a model replica of this ship in the Maritime Museum in Aberdeen, since it was the last passenger ship to be built in the city. And is currently the only way to reach the island, which has no airport.
Atlantic traveller is looking forward to its adventures, quite possibly throughout Africa, (after understandably a period of time in UK and Europe...), and is hoping to eventually find its home in one of St Helena Islands geocaches (there are a few!). Once it reaches the island it is to stay - and I shall personally collect it on my next visit.
Thanks!
Atlantic traveller should be taken from cache to cache, gradually (or speedily, whichever suits!) heading south, in order to accomplish its mission as stated above!
The first person/s to find the tag from its starting cache may keep the ring attached, before moving on the tag, if they wish.
Thanks
