Tastevin OW (Old World) wants to travel around and visit wine producing areas - in what is known as 'The Old World' in the wine community. But first it wants to have a spring tour in south-eastern part of Norway, and to join fellow cachers having a nice meal accompined with good wine.
It does not like to join in on parties where alcohol consumption gets out of hand.
Tastevin is used for tasting wines. And we like both Geocaching and wine tasting, so we wanted to have a Travel Bug combining these two interests. This particular tastevin we got when we visited one of the best tasting places for wine in the world - in Marche Aux Vins Beune, while tasting the famous (and expensive) Bourgogne wine from France.
Wine production was introduced in Europe by the Romans, which planted wine vines as the moved into new areas. Still these areas are called 'The Old World', since they have longest history and cultures of producing wine. Most countries from the former West-Europe is in this group, whith France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Germany as the largest wine countries.
Tastevin OW has a younger sister - not surprisingly called Tastevin NW (New World). It wants to travel outside Europe, to the 'New World Wine Countries', amongst others North&South-America, South-Africa and Australia.

After visiting 10 caches since I grabbed Tastevin OW, I now placed it in one of our own caches.
Either the visited caches were to small for this rather large TB or the caches were abroad where I didn't want it to right now.

Actually, this noble thing doesn't belong so deep into the forest, neither did it fit into this micro.
So, after following me on my morning bike-ride through Nordmarka, it went home with me after all.

Peter & pappa grabbed it very far from the wineyards of Europe. Actually, we grabbed it together with a miniature bottle of Absolute vodka ...
... don't worry, no damage done!
