Hallo Liliana,
this nice journal has reached Germany today. And now I would like to tell you a little about our small town and me:
Uetersen is a provincial town in the north of Germany. The town has 17.662 inhabitants and is known as a rose town, wedding town (marriage round-the-clock) and choral town of North Germany. First it was mentioned in 1234 in a document. Uetersen owns a small harbour, three museums, an old cloister district and the wonderful Rosarium. The seven hectares park is the biggest rose garden of North Germany and forms the centre of the German rose breeding. 1020 different roses in all colour gradations and nuances of perfume blossom here.
In Uetersen there are 8 kindergartens, 3 elementary schools, a secondary school and a high school as well as a special school.
Uetersen is an industrial location and economic location with more than 1000 companies. Big companies are a paper factory, a pharmaceutical company, a machine builder who equips ships, a manufacturer of industrial lubricants and a manufacturer of cold-hardening plastics.
In and around Uetersen is the biggest tree- and rose breeding area of Europe which control the world market for cut roses with her breedings.
My name is Ingrid and I am 65 years old. Since my birth I live in this town. I am married and got 2 children, a girl and a boy, who are married too, and 3 grandsons. In our family is living a young sheepdog. My biggest hobbies are novels read, riding a bike, jog and Geocaching with our dog. I am a pensioner and have enough time to undertake nice trips with our camper.
Many greetings from Germany to your school class, your teacher and your family! Nov negreb / Ingrid
