Released right before Halloween, this coin would like to visit spooky caches, night caches, any place that will take your breath away! It would be especially great if it could make it all the way to the Brocken, maybe even for Walpurgisnacht!
The coin was made for the Walpurgis event in Germany, where a brave group of Geocachers climbed the Brocken.
Walpurgis Night is a traditional religious holiday in most countries celebrating it named after Saint Walpurga. In Germany, Walpurgisnacht (or Hexennacht, meaning Witches' Night), the night from April 30 to May 1, is the night when allegedly the witches hold a large celebration on the Blocksberg and await the arrival of Spring. The Brocken, or Blocksberg, is the highest peak in the Harz Mountains in Germany. Since the restricted access to the area and the unique climate provided outstanding conditions, the Brocken area is still covered with Germany extremely rare primary forest.
