Geocoin

Most travel bugs set out to find places. Celebrity Cacher Seeking Geocoin's goal is to find people. Its goal is to be found by each cacher on the above list. Original celebrity status was based on a complex algorithm that included among its many variables how often I came across names in the (mostly) Eastern MA caches I frequent. One important point - anyone may grab and move CCSG but its goal remains to find the celebrity cachers.

There are no rules regarding transfer of CCSG though via cache is obviously preferred. The only other rule is that once one of the current celebrity cachers logs a find, he/she should contact me to provide a new celebrity geocacher to add to the sought after list (either in the log or via email). Enjoy.

December 2006 Update
It has been three years since I launched CCSG and it has successfully found over 30 celebrity cachers. Not too shabby. I just had something happen twice in one day that has never happened before (and actually may happen a third time before the day is done). A new celebrity was named that had already found the coin. When this occurs, the celebrity has the choice of counting the previous find and immediately naming a new celebrity cacher or being added to the "active" list which would require a subsequent find in order to name another.

Another update is that there are a few cachers that have been on the active list for a long time (highlighted by Trail Prowlers who are coming up on their 3-year anniversary of being named). Henceforth, celebrity cachers that have been on the active list for a long period of time will remain on the list but I will name a subsequent celebrity cacher who will be added. This will keep CCSG in play. With that, thanks for the fun and happy caching.

Okay. I have a magical desk! I discovered a coin on it this morning! Yay me! It’s the Celebrity Cacher Seeking Geocoin. Therefore, what most likely happened was that I “discovered” it from LC yesterday, and then forgot about it. Anyway, it should be dropped soon, so be on the lookout.

Much to my surprise, Team Fismo passed me this geocoin at the pre-tournament barbeque. I have been watching it travels for two years and was honored by CacheNCarryMA's nomination. I pledge to continue to provide the humorous comraderie as The Constabulary and I continue to host events.

My nomination is for another geocacher who has worked tirelessly to provide us an opportunity to explore the Great Northern Tier for the last two years while participating in a fun tournament.
