The Sextant Geocoin™ commemorates the sextant device, which in conjunction with the octant, replaced the earlier tools used for navigation, including the astrolabe and quadrant. The sextant allowed for greater accuracy than previous devices, and is still used to this day, as a fallback device to electronic devices.
The coin is produced in antique bronze with a polished plating over the actual sextant. The stars around the sextant glow in the dark.
Thanks to 'Sol de lune' for his generosity in giving us this coin after misplacing our original.
