Current Goal

While exploring Seoul and searching for caches, I stumbled upon a street market. While perusing the wares for sale...this caught my eye. In 10 years here, I had never seen these beads before.

 

They are said to come from the Bodhi tree, a fig tree that was common for Buddha to sit under while meditating.

 

IT'S MISSION IS TO TRAVEL THE WORLD bringing a calming peace that comes with mountain vista's, hiking, and wilderness caching. 

 

I loves mountains, but never says no to a good city cache either!

 

PLEASE KEEP ME MOVING!  I HOPE TO RETURN TO KOREA EVENTUALLY TOO.

Today we visited the Mosaic District Farmer's Market in Northern Virginia (NoVA). Local farmers and producers of specialty foods gather to sell their products twice a week. Maybe this is this similar to the street market where your owner found you? We enjoyed a nice lunch here today.

Hint: You are hiding in the big yellow flower. Found it!

Last night we visited the National Mall in Washington DC. We walked from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial (capturing views of each in the Reflecting Pool), while also enjoying views of the Capitol Building and Jefferson Memorial. It was a very peaceful evening in DC.

Today we visited Great Falls National Park on the Potomac River, just west of Washington DC. Great hiking and beautiful views fill this park. Where will we visit next?

On the 4th of July (US Birthday) we visited Harper's Ferry National Historical Park in West Virginia. Standing in West Virginia, we are looking across the junction of two rivers, with Maryland on the left and Virginia on the right. Here we stand on the Appalachian Trail, which spans approximately 2,200 miles (3,500 km) from Maine to Georgia. We met a thru-hiker that started in Tennessee on his way to Maine, then will return to finish the trail from Tennessee to Georgia. Wow!
