Hello! My name is Leslie. I may not be a perfect lemon, but I'm still tasty. I'm traveling the globe on a mission to educate people about safe and easy ways to reduce the amount of food that gets wasted each year.
I'm competing against seven other fruits + veggies in an epic adventure called "Lovely Uglies Race the Globe." (Follow our progress here)
Did you know that the United States wastes 30-40% of our food supply every year?
A large portion of that waste is comprised of perfectly good fruits and veggies that never make it to grocery stores and farmers markets because they aren’t aesthetically pleasing. These foods are perfectly safe and healthy to eat, but may not look picture perfect.
