About This Item

Skeleton key

This particular skeleton key was actually once used in my great-grandparents' century-old home, where much of my family has lived for the past 100 years. It doesn't have any monetary value, but it'll be interesting to see a piece of my family history travel the world. Ideally, I'd like for it to return home someday, but if not, it'll still be rewarding to track it around the globe. Maybe on one of my world trips I'll find it myself.

Dropped in a travel bug attached to a key that went to my great-grandparents' house. My great-great grandfather was Dr. Henry Gaither, who was one of the original trustees of Oxford College. My grandfather later attended Oxford College back in the 1930's. This is a little piece of my family history starting its travels here.
