Le triskel est un symbole celte qui représente par ses trois volutes (formes spiralées) la vie, le dynamisme et l'enthousiasme.
Il est très utilisé en Bretagne et signifie dans la langue bretonne, les 3 rayons, l'assimilant au soleil qui regarde grâce à ses 3 branches dans les 3 directions, surveillant ainsi l'univers.
Le triskell tourne dans deux sens : un sens positif ou diurne et un sens négatif ou nocturne.
Quand les cercles du triskel tournent vers la gauche, sens dépressionaire, c'est un symbole belliqueux et maléfique, annonçant une guerre prochaine. Quand les cercles tournent vers la droite, sens anticyclonique, c'est un symbole de paix.
