Escaping almost sure suffocation under a pile of identical plush toys, Friedrich der Frankisher Kalb (Friedrich the Frankonian Calf) escaped today from a souvenir stand in Pottenstein, Gemany. He was last seen heading into the woods and shouting "I'm free now, and off to see the world"
Interviews with some of his former basket mates revealed that Friedrich was frustrated with the though of spending his life sitting on a shelf somewhere, and was always yearning for far off lands and continuously brought up the idea of circumnavigating the earth. It is believed that Friedrich will try to leave the Pottenstein area as soon as possible, leaving Germany soon thereafter.
Other calves voiced the opinion that this was unnatural and that Friedrich was obviously being unreasonable - such things are simply just not done. Some, however expressed a bit of jealousy, and were interested in following the details of his journey.
Last seen dressed in Green Lederhosen and a green felt hat, Friedrich is a small stuffed calf about 10cm high. If seen, please report his whereabouts to www.geocaching.com
