Found on Badminston common near Southampton. We're camping nearby and we did actually see a rainbow last night although it was faint and I didn't get a photo

Goodbye Travel Bug Dog Tag, it’s time to set you free. You’ve made it to the outskirts of Swanage and the end of the quiet paths. We can see Old Harry Rocks ahead and we know the end of the SWCP is sort of just around from them. Good luck with your travels. 🍦

Day 10, Kingston to Swanage. Our penultimate day of the entire SWCP. Some steep up and downs today but first we took a rough path off the trail and down to Chapman’s Pool which has lots of fossils in the Kimmeridge clay. 🐚

You made it back to the Coast Path proper at 6.30pm but there was still two hours of walking to go. Kimmeridge is an important fossil site and gives its name to a stage of the Jurassic. No time for fossils today though. Made it to the pub at Kingston just before they stopped serving dinner. All up, 42kms today. 🦴

Day 9 of the SWCP, West Lulworth to Kingston. We had to take a diversion for today’s stretch because the path goes through an army firing range and they use it on weekdays. There are two diversion paths, one through farm and woodland following the Hardy Way for a bit, and a shorter but awful one that involves walking on roads. We took the pretty option but after two hours, we were prevented from going any further because the Bestival music and camping festival was being set up. This meant an hour of road walking on the busy tourist road to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove just to end up a kilometre from where we started. Then we started on the actual road diversion. It was a frightening nightmare - you travelling with my geokids don’t forget. The road diversion was busy with trucks and vans delivering things to Bestival. Horrible horrible horrible. Our feet were also aching because we are wearing hiking boots. I couldn’t even be bothered looking for this cache but given the circumstances, I’m logging you through it. 🤬

You stayed the night in the cute thatched roof village of West Lulworth but I took you on an early morning stroll back down to beautiful Lulworth Cove and Stair Hole, some coastal formations dust along the South West Coast Path from Durdle Door. It’s very misty today so the jewel-like colours in the water are not showing but there’s no one here so we could enjoy it in private. This whole area is really fantastic. ☁️
